Sujin Lee

Sujin Lee makes work about language using a combination of text, video and performance.

She has shown her works at venues including Arko Art Center, Seoul, Korea; Kumho Art Museum, Seoul, Korea; Queens Museum, NY, USA; A.I.R. Gallery, NY, USA; Aljira, NJ, USA; Mandeville Gallery at Union College, NY, USA; Cake Gallery, Seoul, Korea; NURTUREart, NY, USA; Brooklyn Arts Exchange, NY, USA; and The Bronx Museum of the Arts, NY, USA. 

Lee was awarded artist residencies from the Millay Colony for the Arts, Blue Mountain Center, I-Park, Newark Museum, Zarya Center for Contemporary Art, and Artkommunalka. She participated in the Artist in the Marketplace program at the Bronx Museum of the Arts and the Emerge Program at Aljira. She is a recipient of the A.I.R. Gallery Fellowship (2012-2013), SeMA Emerging Artist & Curators Program grant (2016), and Wumin Art Award (2018). 

Lee holds a BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art. She also holds an MFA in Studio Art and an MA in Performance Studies, both from New York University.
